19th May 2017 newsletter

A three-page newsletter this week focuses on our Year 11 Celebration Assembly, held in a packed hall, to mark the end of their time in uniform at Tomlinscote. We wish them all the very best of luck in their forthcoming exams.

Many congratulations to our Under-16 Girls Football team, for not only winning the AFDSFA League but then going on to win the District Cup Final against Weydon. Well done girls!

Our Y11 Boys also reached the District Final, but after putting in a good performance were just beaten. Nevertheless, they have had an excellent campaign and we are proud of the sustained effort they have given all season.

Lastly, the Y8 Boys also reached the district final but were beaten by the national finalists. The boys do have time on their side though, lets’ see if they can go all the way next season!

We have a superb photo of Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, one of the venues for our Y10 Geography trip, which went ahead earlier this month. Despite the dramatic-looking skies, the 83 students all had an excellent trip and have come home with a deeper understanding and lots of memories.

And last but by no means least, congratulations to Y7 students Hannah, for winning Bronze in the U-13 Javelin at the County Athletics last weekend and Leah, for completing 5 Accelerated Reader quizzes since Easter. Well done to both of you.
